About the Prada brand

The father of the Prada brand is Mario Prada, who, together with his brother Martin in 1913, founded a small leatherwork company and opened a boutique in the Milan gallery Vittorio Emanuele II. There he sold leather bags and accessories - all carefully designed and made from the finest materials. Its main principle was that all products were of the highest quality. Soon, Mario Prada began supplying the royal court with luxury leather goods.

In 1970, Miuccia Prada, a newly graduated political science graduate, joined the family business. She took over the reins of the family business, and her meeting with Patrizio Bertelli resulted in a duet in business and life. From now on, they complement each other fantastically - Miuccia as a creation lady, Patrizio as a business lady. The effect of their harmonious cooperation were: shoes and clothes collection, Prada Sport collection and accessories. Prada has quickly become synonymous with best quality and good style. These are functional shapes, subdued colors and the most precious materials.

What makes the brand different?

A characteristic feature of the brand has been the ability to combine traditional elements with modernity, classics with the future. For example - fabric draping, artificial crystal decorations on bags, stiffened short handles in bags or transparent thick eyeglass frames.

Legendary accessories Prada

It all started with a purse. The famous nylon model was developed in the late seventies. In 1985, while working on diversifying the range, Miuccia slightly modified the original model and released a handbag with a gold chain and a triangular logo. The new Pocono model has become the hit and bestseller of the brand, becoming available in both backpack and bag versions. Since then, each bag, designed by Prada: Vachetta, Saffiano Lux, City Sport, and recently Elektra and Cahier are the object of ordering fashionistas.

The Prada Eyewear sunglasses line, which premiered in 1999, was a huge success thanks to subtle and somewhat futuristic models. Baroque decorations or those in the style of the 1960s combined with modern materials - have an incredibly contemporary character.

The Italian brand does not succumb to current trends, it imposes its fashion vision consistently. What concept the creative Italian will show at the next show is often a mystery. Because in the absence of consistency lies the source of its success. It is impossible to put it in any framework and let it stay that way.
