What are martens?

These are iconic shoes that you can see publicly at your colleagues, friends, family, but also celebrities like Rihanna, Sting or the Dalai Lama. This model of shoes, or martensy, was developed by military doctor Klaus Martens. They look like soldier's boots, which thanks to the airbag mounted in the heel of the footwear reduce the level of pain during use.

Characteristic martens

The main feature of martens is 8 (eight) holes for shoelaces. Yellow yarn is often used to sew the upper. The shoes have rounded toes and massive soles. On the one hand, they are elegant and eye-catching, while on the other, worn by punk rockers or motorcyclists.

The unusual potential of martens is noticed by stylists and trendsetters, introducing them to the world of fashion. Today it is difficult to find a star or fashionista who does not have at least one pair of these legendary shoes in her wardrobe.

Although martens have retained their expressive character, they also undergo fashion transformations. Classic black or burgundy models have been joined by patterns in flowers, dots, leopard print or fashions tempting with vinyl gloss or a saturated shade of pink or red.
